- The search for freedom.
Life progresses, we get older and realize changes are imminent. So they seem. We naturally don’t want things to change, we like things the way they are, we work so hard for things to be the way they are. Recently change seems like the only thing going around in my life. In all lives I guess. We all have our own variables that greatly affect how our life changes within the lens of our perspective. Age, gender, culture, our own identities, our personalities, our varying needs to always want more, and a thousand other human attributes that we possess will determine how it is that these changes are played out in our lives. I like to think of human life as age windows, where during some windows a certain type of change is to inevitably occur to us. Since the moment we are born, day 1, to year 10 we experience massive amounts of physical change. We go from being tiny humans to fully complex children who are learning to play around with their bodies while simultaneously absorbing mental attributes and events that will play a tremendous role in window 20–30. The 10–20 window keeps us growing into more conscious human beings as we experience adolescence and struggle through the physical adaptations of the body and the mind while our hormones are bouncing around all over the place taking control of our emotions and reactions. The 20–30 window is in my opinion (however this opinion is practically only my bias since I am currently in that window) one of the most influential if not the most influential window of human life. I believe since we enter the 20 year age range we eagerly, excitedly but consciously think, “fuck, I’m 20 now”, and even though we still have years ahead of us, if this realization doesn’t fully kick in we run the risk of suddenly waking up one day and thinking “fuck, I’m 30 now”. This birthday apparently presents some sort of major crisis for some people. I’d like to gladly avoid that thought in the future by deciding right now what it is I will be doing for the next window of years, which I guess presents other major challenges in itself. If I have to be honest with myself at 27 years old. Is that during my 10–20's window and three to four…
